Do it for the dopamine! That’s my favorite lyric from my new favorite mat mobility track, Retail Therapy by Cloudy June. I admit the song hits a little close to home (“It’s hard to feel bad when you’re spending a bag…buy pretty things that I don’t need, I did it for the dopamine!”). But it is great advice for this class: do it for the way it makes you feel, for that fantastic badass feeling of moving to great music, feeling muscles activate inside you, sending strength through your body. It’s so much better than anything I have ever bought! And here’s something else: that badass dopamine hit makes me think some badass thoughts, like, maybe there’s nothing stopping me after all. Maybe I have had the strength and the control all this time, and just didn’t really know it. Well, I know it now.
