Introducing Billionaire, Greedy, and Level Up
Hey Oulaverse, we are learning three more tracks today. The cardio track, another standing track, and an upper body track.
In power we want to empower our participants to choose exercises that challenge them and don’t overload their bodies. Here are some examples of overload.
Cardio overload: feeling dizzy, heart rate through the roof, inability to catch one’s breath
Joint overload: joint pain and discomfort, inability to maintain proper alignment
Muscle overload: burning sensation, shakiness, muscle failure
In Power, we give lots of exercise variations so that you can decide what’s best for you. Burpee and push-ups can be performed off of an incline, no, jumping, no problem throughout the, and always feel welcome to begin at a slower pace. Fast movements must be earned.
Billionaire has a double down bury combo. burpee’s require a lot of course, stability strength and mobility in the ankles and hips. If they are hard for you to perform, consider using an incline like a chair or a bench or even a countertop.
Greedy. You have lots of options for the skaters. You can do perform a :
Step touch
Side step to lunge
Side to side stepping skater
Side to side hopping skater with without placing the trailing foot on the floor
In Level Up we have a lot of plank knees. If you’re coming into class with tight hip flexors, please consider using a side tap instead of the knee to avoid overloading hip flexors. I highly recommend performing push-ups from the toes, and doing them from an incline. Try placing your hands on a couch or a chair or a counter so that you can perform the full range of motion with your chest coming down all the way before pushing back up. And then, finally on the plank walks, try to stabilize the core and minimize movement through the hips.

In 2016, Emilie was teaching a HIIT class and decided to stick around for the next class called Oula. She loved it! When she discovered there was another version of Oula called Power , YEESSSS! She knew Power was for her. Emilie is a powerhouse who loves to jump high, fly through burpees, and show push-ups who’s boss. Emilie will help you modify to maintain good form, guide your attention to focus on the targeted muscles, and push you to do one more quality rep!

Do it for the dopamine! That’s my favorite lyric from my new favorite mat mobility track, Retail Therapy by Cloudy June. I admit the song hits a little close to home (“It’s hard to feel bad when you’re spending a bag…buy pretty things that I don’t need, I did it for the dopamine!”). But it is gre...
