The theme for this playlist is clarity (which is also my word for 2020). You'll notice a lot of the lyrics talking about seeing and being seen. In fact, this is spoken of in every song in this list. How we see ourselves through others' eyes. How much of our identity is tied up to an old version of ourselves. As we move into the new (decade, phase, fill-in-your-blank) often something has to be let go of and released. This can be painful and scary, and you'll feel this in the playlist. Descend to transcend. Acknowledge the dark to experience the light. Let go to let in.
When we do self reflection in our own selves, we can think about it like cleaning off our glasses/lenses through which we view the world. When we clean our glasses off (steaming them up and wiping them off=doing this physical/mental/spiritual work), the outside world doesn't change, necessarily, but how we perceive and receive the information is what changes. Everything can become more clear... clarity.
