Hey Powerhouses, we are introducing the last 3 songs of our Heaven and Fire Playlist: Same Old Song, Heart Still Beating, and Feel Less.

Same Old Song - This lower body track has an easy to learn pattern with just 4 moves repeated twice. We start with 2 fantastic functional movements: the reverse nordic curl and bulldog. If you want extra help getting up out of the reverse nordics, set yourself up next to something sturdy to grab onto to help get back up after leaning back.

Heart Still Beating - I love that Heart Still Beating incorporates 2 back to back phrases of rolling like a ball. I always feel playful and carefree (Carefree is one of Oula’s values) when rolling like a ball. It's fun and reminds me of being a kid rolling around, or playing the crack the egg trampoline game.

Rolling like a ball is a versatile core exercise because it can be performed in several different positions. Try not to pump the legs like we would when on a swingset. Instead generate the movement from the core with the help of a C-curve in the back. Pause on the top to really establish balance and control in between repetitions.

Feel Less - Feel Less has such great lyrics. “Preparing for the worst but hoping for the best!” Sometimes in life we just have to keep on moving. Feel Less. Drive. This cool down track has a challenging full body spinal twist called the pretzel. The foundational position is a spinal twist, lying on the back with shoulders grounded, top leg bent with knee reaching down towards the diagonal. The part that makes it a “pretzel” is bending the bottom leg and the hand grabbing the ankle for an additional quad stretch. Think of the pretzel as a bonus challenge movement; if it doesn’t work for you, don’t worry about it and enjoy the spinal twist ^_^.
